I hope everyone has been enjoying their Fourth of July so far. We made it to our town's parade this morning, maybe the shortest parade I've ever seen, but nice nonetheless. I'm trying to remember if we have been to this parade before, but I don't think so. I know we weren't there last year because Casey and I were on vacation in St. Louis. The year before that, sadly, I was on my last stay in the hospital, not able to go home for another two weeks after that. Fortunately, Casey was able to buy some fireworks, and we invited friends over the night of my hospital release to celebrate.
Speaking of hospitals...I was just there yesterday having my gallbladder removed! They did a very quick and wonderful job, so I arrived at 8:00 a.m. and was home by 1:00 p.m. Things couldn't have gone any better than they did, and I was so very thankful to be at home in my own bed last night. This wasn't an emergency procedure, for anyone who is wondering, but something we felt needed to be done for many different reasons. Now that I've had my tonsils, appendix, and gallbladder removed...I don't think there's much more to be done. Hmm...maybe the spleen? Nah, I'll just keep that one for now.
Happy Fourth!

I'm so glad you're feeling better!!! :)
Thanks Sarah! =)
Goodness - after all you have been through, it's ABOUT TIME you got to have a simple, uncomplicated procedure and not an extended, difficult stay!! ;-) Hope your recovery goes well too!
I'm glad you're doing so well. I can't believe how fast that was. I had to stay overnight for my gallbladder surgery. Everyone says it's no big deal not to have that anymore, but I know it took my body a LONG time to adjust. I had to take acid reflux pills for a while afterwards and there are certain foods that don't react well with your body. I've heard of different foods for different people. I'm not trying to sound so glum, but I just remember people telling me, "it's nothing, your body does just as well without it." and then I wondered why all these strange things kept popping up. I hope everything is going well for you. I hear you will be with your family this weekend? I hope you all have a great time!
Thanks Andrea...I agree whole-heartedly! =)
Thanks Syndi! Yeah, they got me in and out of there pretty quickly. I think a lot of that was due to my surgeon who knows what we've been through and made a lot of that happen. I've been doing fine so far, just some soreness here and there. I think after all the really huge surgeries I had, this didn't seem so big. Hopefully I won't have some aftermath stuff down the road!
