This morning I opened my eyes about ten minutes before the alarm went off. And right in front of me, not more than a few inches from my own face, was the face of my two-year-old son, quietly staring at me. As soon as he saw I was awake he reached out and patted me sweetly, then asked to be pulled "up, up" onto the bed. There the three of us were, cuddling and laughing together. Just one of those moments you want to put in a little box so you can take it out in twenty years and relish it all over again.

Ah. Thanks for sharing such a sweet moment! It's amazing that we can "feel" someone staring at us. I can just imagine what Miles was thinking "If I go stand by the bed I'll know the EXACT moment she wakes up"
I know, isn't that strange? I usually don't just open my eyes like that, but it was like I had to or something. It was so hilarious the way he was just waiting there quietly for me to open my eyes...my nephew used to do the exact same thing to my sister.
You mean you didn't scream when you opened your eyes? What a mom! Evan has startled Harold & I many a time with hilarious results. :) And you are right, these are indeed precious moments that will last a lifetime. (Sorry, don't mean to sound like a Hallmark card...)
Lori, I'll bet you have some great stories! Oh, and I didn't even think about you sounding like a Hallmark card until you mentioned it but...yeah, you did a little. But that's not a bad thing! =)
That is soooo sweet! :) Much sweeter than my mornings, which typically start out with a 3 yr old yelling, "MOM I POOOOOOOPED!"
:)
Ha, I love it Sarah! Although that's not so much a sweet thing, it is hilarious and makes for a great story to share, obviously! =)
