It's 'Move-In Day' on campus today. What does that mean for me? Not much, really, seeing as I would have hard time maneuvering all those freshmen boxes up and down stairs with a four-year-old at my heels saying, "Mama, I see a spider!" or asking to go home or be picked up or to help with a 100-pound box. Okay, that last one would have been sweet...but not possible.
No, Move-In Day for me means meeting Casey and the rest of the crew at some point near lunch to hopefully capture some of them on my trusty camera. I'm sure they'll love that. But hey, it's my job. They do things, I document, we all watch the show later and laugh at ourselves. Or rather, we all laugh at them. You didn't think I'd end up in any of my shows, did you? We'll see on Monday night...on the schedule is pizza and Rock Band.
I'm hoping that another thing that Move-In Day means for me is a new t-shirt. I saw them yesterday and they are rad.
P.S. If you don't get the title's Friends reference, I'm very sad for you. That scene is one of THE BEST.

Oh my goodness!!! That episode with Ross screaming PIVOT! PIVOT! PIVOT! while they were moving the sofa up the stairs was totally HILARIOUS. HAHAHAHAHA. His voice and the way he said it...!!!
Jolene ~ You make me laugh just the way you're describing it, and I've seen it so many times! When Casey finally saw it (he's only just now getting caught up on watching), he loved it just as much. So when I was thinking about him and some of the guys moving the freshmen girls' things into the dorm that image came straight to mind...ah, if only it had really happened. : )
Thank you for laughing with me, friend.
I knew as soon as I read the title that this entry would be about moving. In fact, I cannot hear the word pivot without picturing that Friends episode, and the way Chandler says "Shut up, shut up, shut uuuuuuppp!" lol!!!!! Love you girl!
Haha!!! I used to actually get irritated with Chandler on that part, but now I know that I would be Chandler in that scenario. Okay, I'd be Ross too. : )
This absolutely made my day!! I guess it's been a while since I checked your blog(or you've posted more in the last few weeks!) so I was at work (shame on me) and clicked over from your facebook page. I knew the reference or at least repeated it in my head the way Ross says it. I said this a while back when we were moving something and I had to EXPLAIN it. I wouldn't have to explain it to you! I can just picture you helping me move this weekend and saying that and us all busting out laughing! Good times. Thanks for making my day.
I'm so glad this made your day, Shell! And yes, we would be laughing pretty hard doing the 'pivot!' thing together...I can see you and me and Samantha and Syndi getting into it, but I guess we'd need Casey and/or Richard as well. Casey likes that scene and does a pretty good Ross impression for that one. Too bad you had to explain it to someone...they are missing out not knowing it! Thanks for making my day by reminding me of all our good times! Recently I was telling the 'we love you with the love of the Lord'/Savannah story, but it just wasn't as funny as it had been in the moment or if you knew all of us as well. Miss you!!!
I am obviously just now catching up on your blog!! Shame on me for letting so much time slip by! We adore Friends and that is one of the best episodes ever. His voice in that is just hysterical. And then the very end of the show with the couch cut in half makes me laugh so hard!! Thanks for the reference. Think I'll dig out that season and pop it in!
;)
Kristi ~ No worries at all about not being 'caught up,' I promise I don't keep track! :) Glad I have you digging back into your Friends dvd's to watch again. We've been watching the reruns for a bit now, can't wait to see that one again!
