Here it is, folks. I didn't know it was going to happen, but it did. That's right, I wrote a poem. A Christmas poem. And not just any Christmas poem -- a red and green Christmas poem! I really got into it. Last night, someone (and you know who you are, Heather!) told me, "You'd better post on your blog soon!" so I thought I'd go a step further. But before I get started, I just want to tell all my friends and family how much I love and appreciate them -- and for those that are far away, how much I miss them! Oh, and happy birthday Richie! And now...the poem.
When writing out a Christmas poem,
It's safe to stick with rhyme.
I don't always follow the rules,
But I promise I'll try this time.
It's finals week (but not for me!),
The students are all so stressed.
And so, although they don't dance with glee,
I'm hoping they know they are blessed!
What a wonderful, exciting year it's been
What with moving from there to here.
I do miss that big 'ol western Lone Star scene,
But now there's green grass and trees everywhere!
We look forward to Christmas, me and the Case,
We'll see friends and family a whole fortnight!
There'll be presents and yummy food all over the place,
Yes, I think that it will be alright!
For those of you I haven't seen in a while,
I wish you all Christmas cheer.
Maybe I've given you a bit of a smile --
And I sure hope to see you next year!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
May God bless you in all that you do.
