For Mr. Church (and other interested knitters!)

A knitting class will start here next month! Here is what was in the newspaper: Tuesday evenings in February at the Library. Beginner classes for teens and adults begin Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. The class will be limited to 10 people and registration is required. Each person will need to bring a pair of knitting needles in size 8 to 11. To register, call the library.

There you go!

Blogs, Knitting and LOTR...and more Junebug

I know, I know...I haven't posted anytime recently. This blog thing can either be a really fun thing or a really pain thing. And yes, I meant to say it that way. I've mostly been enjoying reading my favorite blogs, and then of course when they don't post I'm like, "Hey, c'mon slacker! I want some new material already!" Hmm...pot calling the kettle black?

If you look in the sidebar, there is Sarah's Blog, which I've really been keeping up with because she is due with her baby girl in just under three weeks now -- very exciting stuff. Sarah's blog is very entertaining but also refreshing and sweet, in my opinion.

And if you've noticed my new "Right Now I'm Reading..." section, you'll see Knitting For Dummies there. People laugh at my Dummies book, but it is a great resource for beginning knitters. I started a project the other day and I am so excited to see it taking shape and actually looking like something! I'll move on to more complicated things later, but for now I'll continue on my "Valentine Heart Cloth" as it's called. It's so cute!

By the way, if you are a Lord of the Rings fan, then check out this link and this link. My brother told me about these. Thanks Trev!

And for those of you who need to see more Junebug...

This is Junebug's "Oh yeah? What are you gonna do
about it?" face. She likes to intimidate us. =)

Hmm...what color is my hair again?

Well, I laughed so hard at myself last night that I cried. Casey was in the kitchen making dinner (such a sweet man!) and letting me rest on the couch. I was flipping through the channels and came upon the new show Wickedly Perfect. I didn't really know what was going on, but as they would have each person talking on-camera, their name would be at the bottom of the screen. I called out to Casey, "This woman's name is Mychal-Crafty Beavers!" And I went on to wonder out loud why a person would have a hyphened first name? And isn't that weird? etc. Then another woman was talking, and her name was something like Katrina and then suddenly I realized that after that it said "Team Artisan". So that means that "Crafty Beavers" was a TEAM name, not the woman's name, duh! Before I could even explain my mistake to Casey, I was in the kitchen laughing with tears coming down my face, trying to tell him how extremely blonde I had been. Ah, well. I know that you all have had your own "blonde" moments too!

Here is another pic from my wonderful little camera!

This is right outside Casey's parents' house.

It was right before New Year's Day, and Casey and I went outside to throw his new frisbees. The afternoon sky looked so wonderful, and you can see a jet stream across the middle-top there. I ran back inside to get the camera and snapped a quick photo before we started our frisbee-throwing. I love the trees, and it almost looks like I used a really wide-angle here, but I didn't!

In other news, I was very excited to learn a month or two ago that Casey's favorite Christian musician/composer/singer, Michael Card, will be performing just over an hour away in early February! I was trying to be sneaky about it and order tickets to surprise him for a possible Valentine's Day gift, but while visiting me at work the other day I forgot to cover up the info and Casey innocently pointed to it and asked, "What's this?" I was like, "Oh, Case! That was supposed to be a surprise!" But we both laughed about it, and I was still able to order tickets today (at a much more reasonable price than the Sting tickets). I think it's pretty cool that Casey and I are seeing each of our favorite musicians in concert within just a few months of each other, and what's more is that we are sharing the experience with one another. I absolutely love seeing Casey happy.

Presenting...Junebug

Well, I finally figured out how to post a photo from my new camera, and I decided to pick our little pastel calico, Junebug, as the first display of my new technological abilities. This is Junebug's favorite spot on the couch, where we put her favorite, soft blanket.

I love Junebug's big rabbit feet!

I also added a DaisyPath counter (very bottom of the page) just because I love those LilyPie and DaisyPath things! I wanted it more at the top of the page, but it kept pushing the sidebar to the bottom, and I haven't advanced that far in the HTML world...oh well. And maybe it's silly to keep track of when my third wedding anniversary is, but I've always liked to count down days to anniversaries or events. That's just me.

Now I've gone and caught a sniffle!

Happy fifth day of the New Year! We left for almost two weeks -- Casey and I visited family -- and I brought a cold back with me. Don't know how it slipped into my carry-on bag since there was absolutely no room in there.

Christmas and New Year were spent with our families, which was such a blessing to us. Yes, it is nice to be home, but it is also nice to have hugs from parents and to be spoiled with lots of great food! Speaking of getting spoiled, Casey gave me a wonderful digital camera for Christmas. I have already taken lots of pictures without really reading the manual. Hopefully I can post some here someday.

I am not one who really gets into making resolutions, but I decided that I want to list out some goals for the year and put them on the wall so that I'll see them in the morning and evening. I find it interesting that we can have all these things stored in our minds, but they are more easily put aside if we don't actually see them in front of us. Just human nature, I suppose. Happy goal-setting!
